JOHN 5 Is 'So Honored' To Be Named 'Best Guitarist' At 'Revolver Golden Gods'
May 4, 2013ROB ZOMBIE/ex-MARILYN MANSON guitar virtuoso John 5 was named "Best Guitarist" at the fifth annual Revolver Golden Gods award show presented by Epiphone this past Thursday (May 2) at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, California.
John 5 is one of the most sought-after players and composers of the last decade. His ability to play many styles to perfection on multiple-stringed instruments, from guitar to banjo, has led him to being one of the newest trailblazers in the music industry. He has won the hearts of thousands, and even the legendary Les Paul gave John 5 the ultimate compliment by saying, "Not many people impress me, but tonight you did."
"I'm so honored that I got the best guitarist award for the fifth annual Revolver Golden Gods awards," states John 5. "It really does mean the world to me and thank you to all the fans that have voted."
Best known for his early stint with MARILYN MANSON and mostly his current home of the last nine years with ROB ZOMBIE, John 5 has written with an eclectic group of artists — a list that includes MEAT LOAF, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, David Lee Roth and Rob Halford — and recently penned the first U.K. single, with Kevin Savigar, from Rod Stewart's new album, "Time". Speaking about the collaboration, John 5 said: "Rod is a tremendous artist to work with and it's an absolute honor to co-write this song with him. I hope everyone enjoys it."
